WESTFIELD, NJ — Tens of thousands of people visited Downtown Westfield Sunday for the  2016 FestiFall Street Fair, sponsored by the Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce.

“It's the largest attendance we've ever had,” GWACC Executive Director Gene Jannotti said. “It's just thousands upon thousands of people.”

The day's warm, sunny weather was a stark contrast to the rain that plagued this year's earlier GWACC Spring Fling street fair. People of all ages from around the state enjoyed rides, games, vendors and entertainment. According to Jannotti, more than 230 local businesses and guest vendors participated.

“It’s a pleasure to see families, kids, and everyone having such a great time,” Jannotti said.

The streets, closed off to traffic and protected by police barriers, were lined with booths, food trucks and a stage featuring live music and entertainment. Headliner Nikki Briar and the Sweetbriar Band took the main stage at 4 p.m., an hour before the day-long event ended. Attendees munched on festival fare while they browsed the booths and enjoyed the atmosphere.

“I’ve never seen such long lines of people waiting to buy food,” Jannotti said. “All of the vendors are doing a great job today.”
