WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield High School’s football team and cheerleaders attended a taping of Good Morning America Monday, appearing on-screen during a segment about Monday Night Football.
“The football players were very excited about going and being on TV,” Athletic Director Sandra Mamary said.
“You remember that, Blue Devils?” GMA co-host Robin Roberts said duing a discussion about football's biggest blunders adding, to coach Jim DeSarno, “You would never have done that.”
“They had fun,” Mamary said. “We had a great turnout of student-athletes and cheerleaders — approximately 65 students with many parents in attendance.”
The varsity team’s next game is scheduled for Oct. 17 against Immaculata.
“After the show, they said they were so pumped they wanted to play Immaculata today,” Mamary said.
