WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield’s Memorial Day Parade, sponsored by the Martin Wallberg American Legion Post #3 in Westfield and the Town of Westfield, will start at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 27. Opening ceremonies will take place at the WWI Monument Circle in the center of town. From there, the parade will move up East Broad Street to Fairview Cemetery, where closing ceremonies will be held.
This year's Grand Marshal will be Union County Sheriff Ralph Froelich. Mayor Andy Skibitsky will be among those addressing the crowd and various veteran organizations, members of the New Jersey National Guard, town officials, police officers, firefighters and public works personnel as well as civic and youth organizations will march in the parade.
According to the National Weather Service, the weather for Memorial Day is expected to be sunny with a high of 76 degrees.
