WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield fourth grader Zoey Pipher has been named the April Player of the Month by the Jersey Area Girls Soccer League.

“Zoey has the ability to lead as a team player and as a friend on and off the field in a positive manner,” the League wrote. “Zoey had the ability after being bullied in public school for two years to turn it into a positive way and to focus herself in youth athletic sports instead of letting others control what she did.”

"Every day is a good day for soccer,” the young athlete told TAP into Westfield, adding, “I couldn't do it without my talented teammates."
