WESTFIELD, NJ—The Westfield Regional Health Department is now out of flu vaccine and is referring people who want the flu shot elsewhere, according to Lawrence D. Budnick, MD, MPH, of the Westfield Board of Health.

The board of health is currently investigating whether a Westfield High School freshman who died Wednesday died from the flu.

In a letter to the editor Wednesday, Budnick said that the strain of flu circulating this season is making people sicker than other types and urged readers that it is not too late to get the vaccine.
