May is “Older Americans Month” and students from Westfield High School capped off the month by visiting golden age residents of Westfield, making it a positive experience for both generations.  More than 20 members of the Westfield High School Chorale provided entertainment for the Westfield Senior Citizens Housing Complex.  The songs included challenging pieces including those in French, Italian and German.

The senior citizens were very impressed.  Martha Friedman described the students as “very talented and professional.” Marie Greco said, “I like the conductor and just love the kids.  They are really marvelous.”  Rita Sall summed it up when she remarked, “I thoroughly enjoyed it and we have to have them back.”  Several of the students took turns conducting, along with vocal music teacher John Brzozowski.  Pictured is 12th grader Matthew Lynn describing the history of a musical selection.
