Nine Westfield High School fencers competed in the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA) fencing qualifier tournament, in all three weapons categories: saber, foil and epee.

This was the first time in several years that Westfield was represented at a NJSIAA fencing event. Nicco Chin, who fences saber, qualified for the March 5 Championship Tournament.  

The WHS Fencing Club has over 20 members, who practice at the Advance Fencing and Fitness Academy in Garwood with coaches Jerome Guth and Janusz Mlynek.
