WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield High School counselors, supported by a representative from Imagine, a Center for Coping with Loss, will be at Westfield High School Tuesday following the death Monday of former student Jake Tooley. Tooley died in an early morning house fire at his family’s home on Prospect Street.

In high school, Tooley had been a member of the WHS golf and cross country teams. He was a student at Monmouth University.

“The Westfield School community mourns the death of one of our own, 2016 WHS graduate Jake Tooley,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Margaret Dolan said. “Our prayers and thoughts are with the family and all those who knew our student athlete.”

Westfield High School is currently closed for the summer. The first day of school is Sept. 6.
