The Westfield Memorial Library is excited to offer a craft for adults on Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 2 p.m. and a program on the Skyscrapers of New York at 7 p.m. The library is located at 550 East Broad St.
The craft is the creation of a keepsake box, presented by librarian Marsha Bryant. The library will provide a tin box and other decorating supplies for each participant. Using paint, pictures from magazines (participants can bring their own if they have something specific in mind) and mod podge, they can make a keepsake box to hold their smaller precious memories. Box measurements are 4-3/4” x 3-3/8” x 1-1/2”.
Bryant has been leading classes for novice and experienced crafters for years.
Due to space considerations, registration is available for Westfield Resident Cardholders only. Beginning July 25, MURAL patrons may register, space permitting.
MURAL patrons belong to the 44 libraries that are part of the Middlesex Union Reciprocal Agreement Libraries. Visit www.wmlnj.org and click on the “About Us” tab to see if your library participates. To register for either program, visit the library’s website at www.wmlnj.org, click on the Online Calendar, or call 908-789-4090 option 0.
On Aug. 1, author, photographer and lecturer Kevin Woyce will present a talk on the sky scrapers of New York. He will discuss how and why were they built and show original photographs and images.
