MINNEAPOLIS/ST. PAUL, MN — Former Blue Devil A.J. Murray was drafted by Major League Baseball’s Minnesota Twins in the 14th round Wednesday, according to MLB.com. The 6’2” catcher and first baseman, a 2011 Westfield High School grad, recently graduated Georgia Tech.
Murray played football for WHS as well as baseball and was the 2011 Gatorade player of the year for New Jersey baseball, according to Westfield Athletic Director Sandra Mamary. His older brother, Mike Murray jr, played in the San Francisco Giants' minor league system.
