WESTFIELD, NJ — The Westfield Neighborhood Council hosted its first annual Charity Unity Game last week, featuring a basketball game between Westfield residents and Momentum Prep, an elite youth sports programs in Rahway.

Roosevelt Intermediate School Principal Stewart Carey was honored at the game for his service. Carey will retire this summer after 48 years with the Westfield School District.

Attendees had the opportunity to meet former WNBA All-Star and WNC President Tamecka Dixon during a special autograph signing session and join retired Detroit Piston Horace Jenkins for halftime games.

The event also featured music by Nix in the Mix, games and refreshments. 

All proceeds from the event will support Westfield Neighborhood Council, a community-based organization located at 127 Cacciola Place that serves the needs of families in the Westfield area.  It offers several programs for school-aged children as well as seniors. For more information, click here.
