Westfield Police Blotter: Car Stolen from Driveway & More


April 26, 2017 8:14 a.m.

A resident in the 200 block of Kimball Ave. reported the theft of their motor vehicle from their driveway. The theft occurred between 3 a.m. and 3:15 a.m. on April 26, 2017. The suspect stole a white 2008 Ford Explorer valued at approximately $10,000.

Darryl W. Wilson, age 21, of Westfield, NJ, was arrested on an outstanding Westfield traffic warrant with bail set at $500. Subject was processed and held in lieu of bail pending a Westfield Municipal Court date on April 27, 2017 at 4 p.m.


April 27, 2017 11:10 a.m.

Officers McCarthy and Ferry arrested Alexander Giovanello, age 25, of Scotch Plains, NJ, for possession of under 50 grams of suspended marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia subsequent to a motor vehicle stop. Subject was transported to Westfield Police Department, processed and released on a summons.


April 29, 2017 9:42 a.m.

Michael Peek, age 25, of North Plainfield, NJ, responded to Westfield Police Department to satisfy an active Westfield Municipal Court traffic warrant with bail set at $89. Subject was processed and released after posting bail.


April 30, 2017 12:03 a.m.

Matthew Weill, age 18, of West Orange, NJ, was arrested for possession of controlled dangerous substances and drug paraphernalia pursuant to a motor vehicle stop. Subject was transported to headquarters, processed and released on summonses.


May 1, 2017 1:21 a.m.

Officers Natale and Bagan arrested Luis F. Ramirez, age 24, of Valley Stream, NY, for possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of cocaine pursuant to a motor vehicle stop in the area of Central Ave and Washington Street. Subject was transported to headquarters, processed and released with summonses.


May 2, 2017 8:51 p.m.

Officers Freeman and Johnson arrested Danyelle Heyward, age 31, of Plainfield, NJ, on three outstanding warrants out of Garwood Municipal Court ($1,000), Piscataway Municipal Court (Traffic/$603), and Watchung Boro Municipal Court (Criminal/$376) pursuant to an investigation in the 100 block of Elm Street. Subject was transported to headquarters and released on her own recognizance for the Garwood and Piscataway warrants. She posted requisite bail for the Watchung Boro Warrant.


May 2, 2017 6:03 p.m.

A blue/gold colored Guatemalan Passport was located near the bus stop in front of the North side train station (W. North Avenue). This item was secured in the temporary evidence locker.


May 2, 2017 7:47 p.m.

A resident in the 600 block of Downer Street located an arrow on the front porch of their resident. The arrow can be described as a Predator 2, Model 6075 arrow with white and yellow coloring at the tip. This item was seized for safekeeping and stored at headquarters.

Scotch Plains Man Survives Rollover Accident

FANWOOD-PLAINFIELD, NJ — A 67-year-old Scotch Plains man survived an accident that totaled his car at the busy intersection of South Avenue and Terrill Road late Tuesday afternoon.
