A resident in the 100 block of Wyoming Street reports a jewelry theft from their residence on this day. They cannot recall when the last time they observed it in the residence was. The stolen items are described as two two-karat diamond rings valued at $25,000 each, two diamond-studded earrings valued at $2,000 each and two tennis bracelets (white gold with diamonds) valued at $2,500 each. The total amount of the theft is approximately $59,000.

Officers Forcenito and Martinez arrested Jacob Hernandez, age 18, of Elizabeth and a 16-year-old juvenile male of Elizabeth for possession of drug paraphernalia pursuant to a motor vehicle stop in the area of 600 West South Avenue. Subjects were transported and processed. Jacob was issued a summons and released pending a court date. The juvenile male was turned over to his mother pending a Union County Superior Court date.

 

May 10, 2017 7:18 p.m.

Officers Martinez and Forcenito arrested Stephanie Castro, age 32, of Newark, NJ, for an outstanding criminal warrant ($2,000) out of the Westfield Municipal Court pursuant to a prisoner pick up at Essex County Jail. Subject was transported to headquarters, processed and placed in cell no. 1 in lieu of posted bail.

 

May 10, 2017 10:31 p.m.

Officers Forcenito and Martinez arrested Jake Lusk, age 22, of Scotch Plains, NJ, for possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia pursuant to a motor vehicle stop at West South Avenue/Westfield Avenue. Subject was transported to headquarters, processed and released pending a court date.  

 

May 11, 2017 2:32 a.m.

Officer Natale of the Westfield Police Department reports criminal mischief to two (2) exterior doors to an elementary school located on the 900 block of Saint Marks Avenue pursuant to a school response check. The amount of damage caused is unknown at this time.

 

May 11, 2017 7 p.m.

Officers Natale and Forcenito arrested Quanitha Jackson, age 23, of Irvington, NJ, for possession of controlled dangerous substances (marijuana under 50 grams) during a Westfield Municipal Court proceeding. Subject was transported to headquarters, processed and released pending a court date. At headquarters it was revealed that the subject also had an outstanding traffic warrant ($1,000) out of Newark Municipal Court. Subject was released on her own recognizance pending a court date.

 

May 11, 2017 7:08 p.m.

Officer Forcenito arrested Ibrabeem Steen, age 25, of East Orange, NJ, for an outstanding criminal warrant ($365) out of Irvington Municipal Court pursuant to a response to a municipal court proceeding. Subject was transported to headquarters, processed and transferred over to Irvington Police Department in lieu of posted bail.

 

May 13, 2017 1:41 p.m.

Officers Gill and Domanoski arrested James J. Williams, age 31, of Elizabeth, NJ, for an outstanding traffic warrant issued by the Harrison Municipal Court subsequent to a motor vehicle stop. Subject was transported to Westfield Police Department, processed and released after posting $250 bail.

 

May 15, 2017 2:00 p.m.

Officers Kenny and Gill arrested Latoya Kelly, age 30, of North Plainfield, NJ, for outstanding traffic warrants issued by Watchung Boro (bail $500) and Long Hill Township (bail $200) subsequent to a motor vehicle stop. Subject was transported to Westfield Police Department, processed and released after posting the full bail.

 

May 16, 2017 8:14 p.m.

Officers Forcenito and Santangelo arrested Cresencia Vera-Luna, age 36, of Plainfield, NJ, for three outstanding traffic warrants out of Cranford Municipal Court ($1,796), Scotch Plains Municipal Court ($700) and Fanwood Municipal Court ($269), totaling $2,765. Subject was transported to headquarters, processed and released after posting requisite bail on all three warrants.
