Westfield Police Blotter: Multiple Cars Stolen from Driveways

January 3, 2018 8:18 p.m.

Officers Natale and Martinez arrested Jared Banksy, 18, of Tallahassee, FL, for possession of marijuana under 50 grams pursuant to a motor vehicle stop in the area of 100 Central Avenue. Subject was transported to headquarters, processed and released with a complaint summons.

 

January 3, 2018 8:20 p.m.

A business in the area of 200 West South Avenue reported being the victim of a shoplifting of approximately $50 worth of merchandise. Suspect was described as a black male, black glasses, green bomber jacket with brown fur and black pants with a book bag. No direction of flight.

 

January 3, 2018 11:30 p.m.

Officer Natale and Martinez arrested Mark Monroe Jr., 30, of Plainfield, NJ, for driving while intoxicated and possession of marijuana under 50 grams pursuant to a motor vehicle stop in the area of Willow Grove Road and Willow Grove Parkway. Subject was transported to headquarters, processed and released to a sober adult.

 

January 3, 2018 7:42 a.m.

A resident of the 100 block of Ayliffe Avenue reports that her 2017 Audi Q7, black in color, was stolen from her driveway during the hours of 11 p.m. on Jan. 2, 2018 and 7:40 a.m. on Jan. 3, 2018. It should be noted that the vehicle was unlocked with the key fob in the vehicle. No suspect information at this time.

 

January 3, 2018 8:45 a.m.

A resident of the 400 block of Hillside Avenue reports that his 2017 Alfa Romeo, black in color, was stolen from his driveway during the hours of 9:30 p.m. on Jan. 3, 2018 and 8:45 a.m. on Jan. 4, 2018. It should be noted that the vehicle was unlocked with the key fob in the vehicle. No suspect information at this time.

 

January 4, 2018 9:49 p.m.

Officers Jaramillo and Santangelo arrested Keevon Nemborn, age 25, of Elizabeth, NJ, on the strength of an outstanding confirmed warrant out of Elizabeth Municipal Court in the amount of $383. Subject was transported to headquarters where he was processed and released after posting full bail.

 

January 6, 2018 8:48 a.m.

A resident of the 1000 block of Wyandotte Trail reports that her 2015 Infiniti QX80 was stolen from her driveway between the hours of 10:40 p.m. on Jan. 5, 2018 and 8:48 a.m. on Jan. 6, 2018. It should be noted the vehicle was left unlocked and the key fob was in the vehicle.

 

January 6, 2018 11:42 p.m.

A resident of the 300 block of Orenda Circle reports being the victim of an attempted motor vehicle theft of the 2006 Volkswagen Jetta that was left unlocked in his driveway. Resident heard his vehicle start at 11:44 p.m. and saw his vehicle on in the driveway. Resident banged on the window and saw an individual run from his vehicle down his driveway. No further description of suspect.

 

January 7, 2018 4:10 p.m.

Tanquir Walker, 29, of Bloomfield, NJ, was arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant for his arrest from Westfield Municipal Court in the amount of $500 pursuant to a motor vehicle stop. Further investigation revealed additional warrant from Verona Municipal Court ($500) and Bloomfield Municipal Court ($250). Subject was turned over to Union County Jail.

 

January 8, 2018 3:50 p.m.

A resident from the 700 block of Fairacres Avenue reports being the victim of a theft. The victim reports that unknown actor stole the victim’s wallet while at the YMCA.

 

January 8, 2018 11:53 p.m.

Benjamin R. Camargo, age 27, of Mountainside, NJ, was arrested for driving while intoxicated pursuant to a traffic stop in the area of North Chestnut Street near Winyah Avenue. He was transported to Westfield Police headquarters where he was processed and released to a responsible adult.

 

January 9, 2018 9 a.m.

A resident from Highland Avenue reports that unknown actor(s) gained entry to their residence. While inside the actor(s) stole the victim’s motor vehicle.

 

January 8, 2018 7:25 p.m.

Joel Hope, age 35, of Keyport, NJ, was arrested on the strength on an outstanding warrant for his arrest from Westfield Municipal Court in the amount of $2,750. Subject had an additional $3,500 in warrants from Scotch Plains, Sayreville and Edison Municipal Courts. Subject was unable to post bail and held in Cell Block No. 2.
