Westfield Police Blotter: Westfield Teen Arrested in Burglary & More


July 5, 2017 2:40 p.m.

Officer O’Holla arrested Sebastian Carvalho, age 20, of Cranford for a warrant out of East Brunswick during a motor vehicle stop at 4th Avenue and Brookside Place in Cranford. Mr. Carvalho posted $120 and was released.

Officer Natale and Santangelo arrested Kevin Deoliveira, age 19, of Fairview, NJ, on the strength of one active Red Bank Municipal Court warrant ($1,003) and Mathias Mac-Punales, age 22, of Long Branch, NJ on the strength of two active Red Bank Municipal Court Warrants ($1,506). Subjects were transported to headquarters, processed and transported over to Red Bank.


July 4, 2017 6:40 p.m.

A resident of the 500 Block of Westfield Boulevard reports being the victim of criminal mischief to her residence, specifically several shattered windows to her carriage house’s glass windows. Unknown amount of damage. Suspect is a white male juvenile that fled the scene on a razor scooter.


July 4, 2017 10:22 p.m.

Officers Santangelo and Bagan arrested Barry S. Newman Jr., age 21, of Brooklyn, NY, for possession of controlled dangerous substances under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia pursuant to a motor vehicle stop in the area of Central Avenue near Cedar Street. Subject was transported to headquarters, processed and released with a complaint summons.


July 4, 2017 11:58 p.m.

Officers Martinez and Santangelo arrested Kevin Reinhard of Westfield, NJ, for driving while intoxicated pursuant to an investigation on North Euclid Avenue near Park Drive. Subject was transported to headquarters where he was processed and released to a sober adult.


July 3, 2017 2:15 p.m.

Detectives Bruno and Lieberman arrested Tyler Rocha, age 19, of Westfield, for burglary to a residence and theft pursuant to a detective bureau investigation at headquarters. Subject was processed and later committed to the Union County Jail.


July 6, 2017 11:43 p.m.

Officers Weiss and Forcenito arrested Robby Wilkins, age 35, of Plainfield, NJ, on the strength on a no bail Somerset County Sheriff’s warrant pursuant to a motor vehicle stop in W. North Avenue by Tuttle Parkway. Subject was transported to headquarters, processed and transported over to Somerset County Sherriff’s office.


July 7, 2017 12:27 a.m.

Officers Martinez and Bagan arrested Josselyn Moya-Melgar of North Plainfield for possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia pursuant to a motor vehicle stop in the area of Central Avenue and Greene Place. Subject transported to headquarters, processed and released.


July 8, 2017 10:53 p.m.

Susan Palumbo, age 45, of Colonia, NJ, was arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant from Westfield Municipal Court in the amount of $89. Subject was picked up from Hillside Police Department. Further investigation revealed a warrant from Madison Municipal Court in the amount of $50. Subject was processed and posted bail for Westfield and was released on recognizance from Madison Municipal Court.


July 9, 2017 2:36 p.m.

A resident of Perth Amboy reported a burglary and theft from their motor vehicle while it was parked in the lot for the Westfield High School on July 9 between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Stolen from the vehicle were an iPhone car charger, a white iPhone ear piece and miscellaneous change.


July 11, 2017 6:29 p.m.

Officers Desiato and Carrero arrested Devon A. Casimir, age 20, of Elizabeth, NJ, on an outstanding traffic warrant ($500) out of the Westfield Municipal Court pursuant to a pickup at Elizabeth Police Department. Subject was transported to headquarters, processed and released on posted bail.


July 12, 2017 1:38 a.m.

Officers Martinez and Freeman arrested John Gorski, age 18, of Plainfield, NJ, for possession of marijuana under 50 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia pursuant to a motor vehicle stop in the area of North Avenue and Crossway Place. Subject was transported to headquarters, processed and released.
