WESTFIELD, NJ — The 97-year-old Rialto Theatre closed suddenly amid a landlord-tenant dispute that has been on the docket for at least a year.

Organizers are looking to make AddamsFest a regional draw as the second year of the festival that celebrates town native Charles Addams dovetails with the release of “The Addams Family” animated film.

A Clark man ticketed for speeding in Westfield is fighting that fine. His case is scheduled to be heard in municipal court in Westfield this coming Thursday. His attorney has already taken the matter to the court of public opinion.
