Westfield resident Karen Egert, a successful jazz pianist and vocalist who has been entertaining audiences in New York City and abroad for more than 20 years ,will perform Friday May 30 at the Batavia Café from 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. Batavia Café, a contemporary café in downtown Summit, will present "Friday Dinner & Live Music", where diners can enjoy a three-course meal and live entertainment. Batavia hosts the "Friday Dinner & Live Music" events on the last Friday of each month.

Karen's  sophisticated style and unique voice have garnered high acclaim from her regular performances at the New York Athletic Club on Central Park South and 58th St in NYC as well as Shanghai Jazz in Madison,NJ and Trumpets in Montclair. Karen Egert divides her time between writing her own songs , performing and recording. She has recorded two albums: " Let's Get Lost" and "That Thing Called Love.“, featuring guitarists John Pizzarelli and Bucky Pizarelli. Egert's performance will consist of jazz standards, Brazilian songs, contemporary covers and her own original compositions. Dinner will consist of a three-course, prix fixe menu which includes appetizer, entrée, dessert, coffee and tea for $32/person. BYOB is welcome.
