The summer service project of the Rotary Club of Westfield, Summer Sandwiches, is an undertaking of its ongoing outreach, Project Hunger, directed at eradicating hunger in the Union County community.

Club members solicited contributions on Tuesday nights during Westfield’s Sweet Sounds Downtown Jazz Festival to purchase food to make 300 sandwiches, production style, at all their summertime meetings. They then delivered the sandwiches to local soup kitchens to be handed out to those at risk for nutrition insecurity, particularly children.
