WESTFIELD, NJ — Westfield Public Schools will be closed Thursday due to hazardous walking and driving conditions as a result of the impending snow storm, the district announced Wednesday evening.

A powerful storm is expected to hit the area late Wednesday night and into Thursday, according to the National Weather Service, with eight to 12 inches of snow accumulation possible.

Westfield police sent out a reminder via Nixle Wednesday that parking is prohibited on all streets when three or more inches of snow have fallen. For more on the town of Westfield’s new rules regarding snowstorms, click here.
