WESTIELD, NJ — Acting Mayor Jo Ann Neylan, standing in for Mayor Andy Skibitsky, read a proclamation at last week’s town council meeting making World Pancreatic Cancer Day, Nov. 13, an event to be observed in Westfield.

Pancreatic cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer death in the United States, Neylan read, and is the only major cancer with a five-year survival rate in the single digits.
