WESTFIELD, NJ — The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning for Union County Friday from 4:25 p.m. until 6 p.m. A second flash flood warning was issued from 6:16 p.m. until 9:15 p.m.*

Doppler radar indicated during the afternoon that thunderstorms were producing heavy rain across the area, according to the service. It advised, “Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.”
