WESTFIELD, NJ — Damaging winds are expected to hit Westfield late Saturday night and into Sunday afternoon, The National Weather Service has announced. The service issued a high wind warning for our area beginning at midnight and lasting until 2 p.m. Sunday.

Westfielders should expect winds of 20 to 30 miles per hour, with gusts up to 60 miles per hour, which could result in downed trees and power lines and difficulty driving, especially for those driving high profile vehicles on overpasses and bridges, the weather service said.

Thunder, rain and even some snow are also possible Sunday morning, the service said.
