WESTFIELD, NJ — The Westfield Volunteer Rescue Squad is inviting members of the community come in and lean about what they do this Memorial Day, May 29, from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Participants can meet members and tour the squad’s headquarters and its brand-new ambulance.

“The members of the Westfield Volunteer Rescue Squad love being an integral part of the community,” WVRS member David Sloan said. “Many of us are residents, or were at one point, and acknowledge the importance of a local community taking care of their own. This Memorial Day we hope to excite residents’ sense of pride and patriotism by inviting everyone to join us at the squad house to meet the crews and see, firsthand, how the town's generosity supplies and equips the Rescue Squad to respond to local emergencies.”

The WVRS is located at 335 Waterson St. Free parking is available in the Westfield municipal lot on Waterson Street. For more information about the squad and to donate, visit www.westfieldrescuesquad.org.
