WESTFIELD, NJ — Saturday, Westfield’s own Caroline Baldwin completed her first Team USA Olympic Trials with the Women’s 50m freestyle.
Coming out lane 7 in Heat no. 11, the 2014 WHS graduate finished with a time of 25.71, good for 26th place out of 178 competitors. Baldwin’s time was only 1.19 off from the first place finisher. Only the top 15 times qualified for the semi-final.
Coincidentally, on Monday Baldwin also finished 26th overall in the 100m backstroke, out of 155 competitors, with a time of 1:01.86 in the preliminary heat round.
Baldwin will return to University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill swim team this fall for her junior season.
