WESTFIELD, NJ—Commuters and those traveling home to Westfield from Christmas vacations found themselves on slippery, slow rides this afternoon after snow began to fall here just before 2 p.m.

Currently, the area is experiencing rain and patchy fog. A northeast wind is blowing at 15 to 25 miles per hour, with gusts as high as 45 miles per hour, according to the the National Weather Service, and new precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch are possible. Temperatures are not expected to fall below freezing tonight.
