The YMCA Achievers Program is gearing up for the 2017-2018 school year and will kick off at the Westfield Area YMCA, 220 Clark Street, on Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 7 p.m.  Light refreshments will be served.

Achievers is a college readiness, career development and life skills program open to minority teens (grades 8-12) from throughout Union county. The program seeks to inspire participants to become leaders in their community and achieve academic excellence by providing tools and activities that prepares them for life.

The program is offered collaboratively through the Westfield Area YMCA, Plainfield Area YMCA and Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA.  To participate, teens must complete an application form and be committed to attend and participate in workshops and events. There is no minimum GPA requirement and the program, including SAT Prep and materials, is free of cost.
