Driver in Fatal Accident at Westfield's Cowperthwaite and Prospect Issued Summonses

WESTFIELD, NJ – The driver in an accident Feb. 2 that took the life of Westfield resident Donna Rothstein has been issued motor vehicle summonses for careless driving and failure to yield to pedestrians in a crosswalk, according to Westfield Police Chief David Wayman.

“We are still awaiting the toxicology report from the state police,” Wayman said.

Rothstein and her husband, Bruce, were both struck by the car driven by Jason Lutz, 24, of Westfield at the intersection of Prospect Street and Cowperthwaite Place. She died three days after the accident.
