WESTFIELD, NJ -- Many first graders spend their year learning to read books. However, at Holy Trinity School in Westfield, the young students in Ms. McEwen’s and Mrs. Murphy’s 1st grade classes actually wrote and illustrated their own book, "The Spirit of Christmas," which was published last week.

"Each page has a beautifully drawn image to go along with their exceptionally neat handwritten personal stories that detail the students' favorite Christmas traditions," said proud principal Dr. Adele Ellis. "The students did an exceptional job. This treasured book is sure to become a new tradition for each of our authors to read aloud with their families on Christmas days yet to come."

Since 1916, Holy Trinity School has provided a quality Catholic education to Westfield and the surrounding communities. A 2011 National Blue Ribbon and a Middle States accredited school, its mission is to educate students to actualize their full, individual potential, both spiritually and academically.
