At the Westfield Board of Education meeting on Nov. 14, Long Range Planning Chair Mark Friedman announced that Monday, Nov. 20, is the deadline for Westfield residents to submit the survey on full-day kindergarten. The 3-minute survey, which includes background information on the topic – including potential facility expansion and operating costs – is available at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/FDKindergarten as well as under “Important Messages” on the district website.
Dr. Margaret Dolan, Superintendent of Schools, explained that this public outreach follows the direction set in 2016 by the Strategic Planning Council, which represented a cross section of the community, to assess if there is a value, need and support for full day kindergarten within the Westfield Public School District.
