October 21, 2019

I am writing a letter of endorsement for Mark Parmelee for Ward 2 Town Council. I have known Mark, his wife Megan and their four children for 19 years. My family moved to Westfield in 2000, and the Parmelee family was one of the first families we met.

Candidate Statement: Revitalizing Our Downtown

October 21, 2019

One of the many things that attracted Maria and me to Westfield was the old-world charm of our Downtown. One morning while we were house hunting, we grabbed breakfast at Vicki’s Diner, and it just felt right. We always imagined that as our kids got older, they’d spend time downtown with their friends after school and during the summers.

Unfortunately, over the past few years ...

"It was a beautiful way to kick off fall and set the school abuzz with festive fall spirits," ...

All About Air Filters

Air filters are out of sight and, typically, out of mind. However, they’re an important part of your HVAC system that requires your attention. Air filters not only help keep your equipment clean and free of debris, but also help to keep indoor air clean. Filters should be changed regularly. We recommend changing them every 1 to 3 months.

Getting the right filter

New Jersey Transit A National Disgrace?

This week’s question is a continuation of last week’s on New Jersey infrastructure issues.

New Jersey Transit has more than 2,000 buses and more than 700 trains, and there are more than 900,000 trips taken on NJ Transit every weekday. In total, passengers ride more than 3.5 billion miles per year on the system. In the past, Governor Murphy referred to NJ Transit as a ...

New Jersey’s New Wage Law Protects Employees from Theft

In August of this year, the New Jersey Legislature enacted a new wage theft law that is considered one of the strongest in the nation. This is very good news for employees who work in the State of New Jersey.

If your employer does not pay you, or pays you less than you are owed in wages or benefits the new law provides you with the means to obtain justice in the courts.

Roll-up Your Sleeves and Dig into Seasonal Cleaning

The days are getting shorter. The temperatures are getting cooler. Your summer routines at home have given way to homework and school bus schedules. Tax Tips for the Private Investor

Winston Churchill once declared, “There is no such thing as a good tax.”  While the argument for or against Churchill’s thoughts on taxes is best left for another article, we would argue that there is such thing as a good tax strategy.  In fact, there are several tax strategies a prudent investor could employ to ensure they are maximizing the benefits laid out by the ...
