Westfield 2018 Spring Clean-Up

The Westfield Green Team will host the 2018 WESTFIELD EARTH DAY CELEBRATION over Earth Day Weekend, Sat. April 21 and Sunday April 22.

The weekend will kick-off on Saturday, April 21 from 10 a.m. -12 p.m. with WESTFIELD’S ANNUAL SPRING CLEANUP in honor of Earth Day. Volunteers are encouraged to bring a pair of gloves and a rake and go to either Tamaques Park or Brightwood Park where a member of the town council or Green Team will coordinate clean-up activities. 

Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and religious organizations who need to fulfill community service requirements are welcome to participate. Minors must be supervised by a parent or adult guardian. Drop-ins are welcome, but advance registration is encouraged. Volunteers may also help clean up Mindowaskin Park from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. with the Friends of Mindowaskin Park (FOMP).  For info on the Mindowaskin cleanup, please contact info@mindowaskinpark.org or www.mindowaskinpark.org

After the Spring Cleanup, the Westfield Green Team will launch Westfield’s first official tree planting honoring both Earth Day and Arbor Day. At 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, Mayor Shelley Brindle and the Westfield Tree Preservation Commission will plant a tree at the Department of Public Works building at 959 N Ave W, Westfield, NJ.
