Jimmy Arbes graduated Westfield High School as a two-time state champion golfer. Arbes went on to play for Rutgers University on a golf scholarship. Since then, Jimmy has become a father and stepfather, but remains highly competitive in amateur golf within the NJSGA and MGA sections.
Since qualifying and making the cut at the 2021 Met Open, Jimmy has qualified to compete in the 40th USGA Mid-Amateur Championship being hosted at Sankaty Head Golf Club in Nantucket, MA. With just over 5,100 amateur golfers around the world trying to qualify, 264 players make the starting field. After 36 holes of stroke play, the field is cut down to 64 players, and it is a match play format from that point forward.
The winner of 2021 US Mid-Amateur receives invitations to both the 2022 US Open and 2022 Masters Tournament.
