Michael P. Costello of Westfield passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visit the Dooley Colonial Home; 556 Westfield Ave., Westfield on Saturday, April 15 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 17 at 10 am at Holy Trinity RC Church, Westfield. Cremation will be private.
Costello was born in New York City and has lived in Westfield for many years. Mike was a loving husband to Jackie, devoted father to Dani, Caity and Sam and dear father-in-law to Richard Stewart. He will also be deeply missed by his sister, Palma Cohen.
Mike had a 13-year run in the New York Police Department in Crown Heights, Bronx (Fort Apache) and Carroll Street, Brooklyn. He then went off to Manhattan and worked Sports and Entertainment for Solomon Bros. which evolved into Citigroup where he retired in 2016.
He was an avid skier, waterskier and piano player. Mike loved to travel and eat at Carmines.
He fought a hard fight and will be deeply missed.
