This Tuesday, July 23, marks the fourth night of the 23rd Annual Sweet Sounds Downtown Music Festival in Westfield, NJ.
Performances will be held in four locations throughout the downtown from 7 to 9 p.m. This weekly summer event is brought to you by The Downtown Westfield Corporation and will continue every Tuesday night in July and August. Rain dates will be held on Wednesdays.
Due to the popularity of the pedestrian-only Quimby Street music previously slated for North Ave. has been moved to Quimby Street at the corner of Elm Street. Performers at this week’s festival include Thos Shipley at Central Avenue in front of Turning Point; Bobby Mahoney and the Seventh Son, Elm Street on the lawn of the First Baptist Church; Dave Fields, Quimby Street at the corner of Elm Street; and Little Secret at the corner of South Avenue West. and Westfield Avenue.
While enjoying the musical performances of “Sweet Sounds Downtown,” enjoy dining at one of Westfield’s fine restaurants or shop and stroll through downtown.
The Downtown Westfield Corporation (DWC) formed in 1996, is the management entity of the Special Improvement District. It is governed by a seven-member Board of Directors, has two full-time and one part-time staff members and numerous volunteers serving on Design, Promotion, Economic Development and Organization Committees. The vision of the DWC is for Westfield, NJ to be a preferred destination where people want to live, work and visit.
Westfield is honored to be one of 45 designated Main Street Communities in New Jersey, a program of the National Trust’s National Main Street Center. Westfield is also honored to have won the 2004 Great American Main Street Award, the 2010 America in Bloom Award and the 2013 Great Places in NJ award by the NJ Chapter of the American Planning Association.
