Roosevelt Intermediate School is proud to present Matilda: A Musical, March 19, 20, 21. Inspired by the beloved tale from literary legend Roald Dahl, this Tony Award-winning musical tells the story of Matilda (Andrea Hanchuk), an extraordinary girl who, armed with spirit, intelligence, and magical powers, takes a stand to change her destiny.

Matilda Wormwood is a little girl with astonishing intelligence and psychokinetic powers. Unloved and unwanted by her cruel parents (Ben Dickerson and Domenica Allarde), Matilda finds solace and compassion at school from kind-hearted teacher Miss Honey (Annabel Barker) who recognizes Matilda’s extraordinary gifts.

But Matilda's school life isn't all smooth sailing as she comes face-to-face with tyrannical headmistress, Miss Trunchbull (Skyler Lipkind), who despises all children and takes pleasure in delivering cruel and unusual punishments. Can Matilda’s imagination, wit and powers save her classmates from the wrath of the wicked Trunchbull?
