WESTFIELD, NJ — Rainy weather didn’t stop families from enjoying the town’s Halloween activities Sunday. The annual festivities became part of AddamsFest last year.
Although the Optimist Club’s annual Halloween Parade was canceled, the Downtown Westfield Corporation’s costume contest took place inside the Westfield Armory.
Instead of car trunks, registered trunk-or-treat volunteers displayed their decorations on tables throughout the Armory.
Thousands of people turned out at the Westfield National Guard Armory where the line wrapped around the corner of the building, Dawn Mackey, chairperson of AddamsFest said.
And there was plenty of candy.
“We had two pallets of candy plus all that the volunteer brought for their setups,” Mackey said.
