WESTFIELD, NJ — Roosevelt Intermediate School eighth-grader Isabella Shreyhane has been crowned Miss Teen Manhattan US Nation.

During the recent pageant — which featured a panel interview, athletic wear, evening gown and on-stage question — contestants were tasked with showing off their well roundedness and demonstrating why they deserve to win. Isabella did just that and has used her exposure to help Westfield businesses.

Isabella got her modeling start last September with La Crème, a talent agency in Mountainside. From there, one of the pageant managers recognized Isabella’s potential, and she went to her first show in February.

“I was very shocked. I didn't expect it to be happening so fast,” Isabella said. “I feel like it went from just going to these modeling classes at this agency in Mountainside to then being a titleholder. It was very shocking and scary, but it was always very exciting because it felt like I could expand on this journey.”

After moving to Westfield 2.5 years ago, Isabella has thrived. Pageants have helped her meet new people, which she is grateful for — even if she is a bit shy. “I'm still very new to it, so I got very scared meeting people, but they were all just so nice,” Isabella said.

Miss Manhattan is not the only title Isabella has her eyes set on. There is a Miss New York pageant in New York, and she hopes to win that one too. In addition to upcoming pageants, Isabella has showcased her modeling skills with local businesses. She is using her title and modeling experience to give back to the community and gain exposure in Westfield.

She has modeled shoes for SOLE Shoes, a sweatshirt for Ono Bowls, a dress for the Westfield Service League and makeup for Blende Custom Makeup & Skincare Studio. Her work with these businesses also promoted the new Selfie Stations at a storefront downtown.

In the coming months, she looks forward to expanding her portfolio, doing runway work and winning more pageants.
