Downtown Westfield's Fit on Quimby Wellness in the Street Event

What is it? Members of the public will have the chance to take stretch classes, practice popular yoga poses and dance at an outdoor event set to feature a “flash mob” on Quimby Street in Westfield next weekend.

When is it? Get Fit on Quimby, Wellness in the Street, will be held Sunday, June 9, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Quimby Street, Downtown Westfield Corporation announced.

Who’s doing it? The public is invited to enjoy the morning with stretch exercises, a yoga class and cardio dance flash mob, Downtown Westfield Corporation announced. Demonstrations and products by health and wellness providers will be provided, the DWC said.

What’s the timeline?

9 a.m. Check-in begins
9:30 a.m. Stretch by Kika Stretch Studios
10 a.m. Yoga class led by Satsang Yoga Studio and Brassy Buddha Yoga Studio
11:15 a.m. Cardio Dance Flash Mob led by Westfield resident, Lisa Benke

The cost? The $5 per participant entry fee grants access to all events.

Can we bring the kids? The event is open to people of all ages and skill levels. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent.

What should we bring? Participants are instructed to bring a mat and enjoy the morning of mindful movement and community demonstrations and products by downtown Westfield health and wellness providers.

Isn’t that a public street? Quimby Street will be closed to vehicular traffic during the activities.

Can I preregister? Members of the public can reserve bottles of water, sign a liability waiver, prepay and provide emergency contact information here.
