WESTFIELD, NJ — Minuteman Press in Westfield is giving away 50 “Show Our Local Businesses Some Love” lawn signs in conjunction with the Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce in response to the economic stress caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

Owner Jim Mooney said he got the idea from a colleague in Berkeley Heights who was giving away similar signs.

“I thought it was great,” Mooney said. “We’re here to support the community in any way we can and help fellow businesses as much as we can.”

Mooney said hopes people will see the signs in front of homes and shops and be inspired to show local businesses some love, whether it’s by ordering pick up or delivery, buying gift cards or otherwise.

“It is always great when our small chamber businesses find a way to help each other out,” said Gene Jannotti, CEO of the GWACC, which is helping to cover the cost of the signs.

The signs and hardware to put them up are there for the taking at Minuteman Press, 334 South Ave. East, in Westfield.
