WESTFIELD, NJ — The local government is getting organized for an upcoming meeting.
The Town Council will hold its annual reorganization meeting Tuesday, Jan. 7, at the Municipal Building, 425 East Broad St., at 6:30 p.m. in the council chambers, a public notice said.
Following their successful bids for office, four council members will take the oath of office. The council members are Jim Boyes, Scott Katz, Mark LoGrippo and Mark Parmelee.
The Westfield Board of Education is scheduled to hold its reorganization meeting that same night, Tuesday, Jan. 7. That meeting is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the school district administration building, 302 Elm St.
Incumbent school board members Michael Bielen, Brendan Galligan and Amy Root are anticipated to take the oath of office along with Robert Garrison and Brian Morrissey after successful bids for office in the November election.
Editor's Note: Although last year's gingerbread winners were awarded at the reorganization meeting, this year's will be awarded at the Jan. 14 meeting of the Town Council.
