WESTFIELD, NJ — An estimated 1,300 people tuned in to a livestreamed version of Westfield High School's 2020 graduation Wednesday.

Due to COVID-19, social distancing restrictions limited the in-person gathering to 500 people, approximately 480 of whom were the graduates themselves.

Prominent students addressed the audience watching at home, then the lightning warning siren at Kehler field sounded and a thunderstorm moved in causing the graduates and staff to head indoors.
