WESTFIELD, NJ — For a third consecutive year, the Westfield Public School District has been designated among the “Best Communities for Music Education” in the nation, the school district announced.
This award by the National Association of Music Merchants Foundation “recognizes outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders who have made music education part of a well-rounded education,” the school district announcement said.
The recognition is based on a detailed survey which school districts fill out, according to the NAMM Foundation.
“The survey gauges funding, participation, opportunity, standards, community, facilities and other factors that affect access to comprehensive music education,” according to the NAMM Foundation’s website.
Westfield is among 754 school districts nationwide selected for the award, including 49 school districts in New Jersey.
