As the co-leaders of the Union County chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, we are writing to you and the residents of Ward 3 in Westfield in support of Jenn Gilman and her candidacy for Town Council.
We first met Jenn four years ago at the founding of our local chapter of Moms Demand Action, a volunteer gun violence prevention group fighting for a safer America, where she took on the role of legislative lead. Jenn was in charge of tracking bills at the state and federal level, and keeping our supporters informed on bills we supported and how to help them come into law.
Through her work as legislative lead, Jenn quickly learned how to get things done at every level of government, a skill that further equips her to be an effective member of the Westfield Town Council. Jenn continues to commit herself to our chapter and the gun violence prevention movement, and is always ready to help if it means making our kids and families safer from gun violence.
A testimonial to her commitment to gun violence prevention is the endorsement she received from Everytown for Gun Safety, the largest gun violence prevention advocacy group in the country.
Jenn is a passionate and empathetic advocate for families in so many ways, whether it be through her work on gun safety, her years as a public school teacher, or her passion for making Westfield the best town it can be. We are confident that Jenn has not only the knowledge and experience to be a great asset to Ward 3 and the town of Westfield, but the passion and caring, as well.
