WESTFIELD, NJ — Eight candidates have filed to run for five seats on the Board of Education, according to the Union County Clerk's Office.
Incumbents Amy Root, J. Brendan Galligan and Michael Bielen will vie against newcomers Andrew Bauer and Patrick Justin Fahey for three three-year terms, the filings show.
Incumbent Robert S. Garrison and newcomer Noelle Ebler will compete for a two-year unexpired term.
Incumbent Brian Morrisey will run for a one-year unexpired term, according to the clerk's filings.
The candidates met the 4 p.m. deadline on Monday to file petitions to run. The election will be held Tuesday, Nov. 5.
