WESTFIELD, NJ — There’s a juicy new spot in town.

Kings Bowl Café, 331 West Broad St., is open for business. Located in the space formerly occupied by beauty business Jersey Boutique Spa, the café offers juices, smoothies, fruit bowls, oatmeal bowls, avocado toast, salads, coffee and ice cream, among other items.

The shop’s owner, Byron Chinchilla, a 7-year-long North Plainfield resident with extensive experience in the restaurant industry, held the store’s grand opening last weekend and is pleased with his placement in Westfield.

“It’s good. It’s a nice place — friendly people,” Chinchilla said.

Juice options on the menu range from “Gabby Healthy” — a blend of spinach, cucumber, celery, green apples and pineapple — to “Strawberry Lover,” a mix of strawberries, pineapple, mango, agave and coconut milk.

Smoothies on offer include the “Pink Pitaya”— a blend of pitaya, banana, pineapple, almond and coconut — and “Jahn Power,” which consists of orange, vanilla protein, pineapples and coconut milk.

The shop shares about 10 parking spaces behind the storefront with neighboring stores and is less than a block away from the South Avenue circle — the soon-to-be location of the microbrewery Lions Roar Brewing Co.

While the neighborhood does not immediately appear to be a location with high foot traffic, apartments have recently gone up on West Broad Street and more are also slated for the nearby South Avenue circle.

The Downtown Westfield Corporation’s website says the King’s Bowl Café is within walking distance of Westfield High School and the South Avenue side of the Westfield Train Station. The café lists all items on its menu for less than $10.
