Sichuan Dynasty Opens in Westfield

WESTFIELD, NJ — Sichuan Dynasty, located on the traffic circle in Westfield at 515 South Ave., held its grand opening this weekend marked by a ribbon cutting ceremony with Mayor Andy Skibitsky and members of the Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce.

With chairs padded with red cushions and wooden tables set with attractive placemats, patrons dine here in a comfortable atmosphere.

Highlighted appetizers include Sichuan Cold Noodles ($6.95-$8.95), Sichuan Dumplings in a Spicy Sauce ($6.95-$8.95) and Beef and Ox Tripe in Chili Sauce ($7.95-$9.95).

Featured main menu items include Garlic Broccoli ($7.95 -$11.95), Ma Po’s Bean Curd ($9.45-$12.95), Fish Flavored Eggplant ($8.95-$12.95) Gongbao Chicken (Kung-pao Chicken) ($9.45-$12.95), Shredded Beef with Hot Green Peppers, $9.95 -$13.95, Sweet and Sour Pork Tenderloin ($9.95-$13.95) and Sweet and Sour Pork Spareribs ($9.45 to $13.95).

“Our food is spicy,” noted Suki Yong. “However, if you don’t like very spicy food, we can alter it to your taste.” 

For dessert, several customers one afternoon were enjoying small rice balls set in a rice broth prepared with rice wine. Other featured desserts are Sichuan Pumpkin Cakes ($6.99 to $8.95) and Chengdu Sweet Dumplings ($6.99 to $8.95).

Sichuan Dynasty is serving lunch and dinner and offers free delivery. Open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Tuesday to Thursday, 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday
