WESTFIELD, NJ — Friends of Elaine Gannon, a single Westfield mom who died earlier this month, have created a fundraiser to benefit her three children.
Gannon died on March 7 at age 45 just four months after she was diagnosed with colon cancer, her friend Sascha Field told TAPinto Westfield.
“So many people have been asking us how they can help,” Field said. “This is what Elaine would want more than anything.”
On the fundraising page, organizer Michael Schreiber describes Gannon as a strong, independent woman who could light up a room with her smile.
“But, most importantly in the last decade of her life, she was a mother who was dedicated to loving, growing and supporting her three wonderful children, Noah (10), Emily (10) and Samuel (7),” he writes.
Already, the online fundraiser has gotten more than $28,000 in donations to ensure that the children have financial support as they move forward through life for expenses such as camps, colleges and housing.
