WESTFIELD, NJ — The Westfield-based law firm of Lindabury, McCormick, Estabrook & Cooper became a gold sponsor of the Greater Westfield Area Chamber of Commerce’s Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) Friday, donating money to the program and volunteering to work with its students.
YEA! is a program that helps local middle and high school students become real entrepreneurs. Over the course of a school year, students generate business ideas, conduct market research, write business plans, pitch to a panel of investors and launch real companies.
“We appreciate their help and support for this program,” GWACC Executive Director Gene Jannotti said.
Richard DeLuca, the firm’s director of business development and marketing, will be a YEA! mentor this year.
“We are steadily increasing our involvement with the chamber and this is the next logical progression in the relationship between our two organizations,” DeLuca said. “We’re excited to be partnering up with them.”
“We’re happy to be part of this wonderful program,” Lindabury attorney Bob Anderson said. Anderson and attorney Monica Vir will also work with YEA! students this year.
“It’s exciting to see a whole new generation of people starting businesses," he said.
