Recently, at a Town Council Meeting I expressed my concern to Mayor Brindle that the appointment of Kathleen Prunty as the Interim Executive Director of the Westfield DWC was questionable give that she is also running for Township Committee in Cranford.

My main point was the Ms. Prunty is a conflicted choice as a DWC Executive Director. And the reason for this is simply. If, for example, a business was looking to move to our area and was strongly considering both Westfield and Cranford the conflicted status she would be in are obvious. Mayor Brindle, upon hearing me express this, said I was thinking “small” in a belittling manner.

Now we have the report chronicled in the TAP's Oct. 26 article of the DWC's Twitter post belittling Assemblyman Jon Bramnick. Mayor Brindle, this is BIG. Ms. Prunty, a Democrat, opposes Assemblyman Jon Bramnick and is enthusiastically supporting his opponents in the upcoming election. In light of this, I have asked Mayor Brindle to have Ms. Prunty step down as Westfield’s DWC Executive Director while this issue is under investigation by the authorities, and I ask you do same.
