WESTFIELD, NJ — Mayor Shelley Brindle gave the following update on her Facebook page Sunday night:
STORM & OUTAGE UPDATE: 3/11 as of 10:30 p.m.
PSE&G has reported that there are now 100 customers still remaining without power. Since most remaining customers are individual homes as opposed to streets, progress takes longer. PSE&G is estimating full restoration by 7:15 p.m. tomorrow night.
There are 14 roads that remain closed, including Lawrence Ave and Gallows Hill road, which are the most heavily trafficked roads affected. Please plan your routes tomorrow accordingly.
Tamaques Park remains closed but should reopen in the next few days.
As stated earlier, there will be a town wide curbside pick up of brush and fallen branches once the snow has melted and full power has been restored. More info to come.
We are monitoring the progress of the next storm predicted for Tuesday. Let’s hope that it goes out to sea as some forecasters predict, but we are prepared for it in any case.
Thanks again for your patience, your offers of help, and for your consideration of the well being of your neighbors. Thanks especially to #teamDPW, our police officers and fire department who have been working tirelessly over the last week.
Hope the coming week is a better one. Stay safe everyone!
